Attending Class

· Only registered children are permitted to attend class.

·  Only one adult per family may attend class.  This does not have to be the same adult each week.  Extra adults (spouses, grandparents, etc) can be booked on a class-by-class basis by arranging with Mrs. Deb.

·  Classes run about an hour in total.  Each class begins with casual exploration and conversation. This allows for you and your child to transition into class and socialize with the other families.  You are welcome to arrive a few minutes prior to the class start to get settled. If you are running late, please join us as soon as you are able.

·  Shoes, including toddler shoes, are not permitted in the classroom space.  Please leave your footwear & outerwear in the foyer.

·  While barefoot is best for learning, you are always welcome to wear socks for comfort.

·  Help us keep the classroom safe for hands-on exploration by washing your hands or using sanitizer before and after class. All manipulatives and instruments are sanitized between uses, so they are ready for your child to explore & enjoy with all their senses.

· It can take a few classes to get comfortable in class and used to our routines.  Be patient with your child as they are learning and adapting.  Don't rush their participation and please know you can take a break and simply observe if you need to.

·  During class, joyfully participate with your child in a way that suits their personality and developmental level, modifying activities as needed.  The number one Kindermusik philosophy is to "follow the child" and there is no right or wrong way to participate.  As your child’s first and main teacher, you know them best and can help them get the most out of our learning activities.

· Talk to your children throughout the class.  Notice their achievements and give them the words for what they are doing.  Be as specific as possible (You jumped off the floor with two feet!  You put your shaker in the box).  This provides beneficial feedback to your child to heighten their self-awareness, body awareness and language acquisition.

· Classes end with time to allow for staggered exit and for Level 1+ children to get stamps on their hands if they wish.   There is a minimum of 30 minutes between classes to allow for cleaning and tear down/reset.

·  Parents/caregivers are responsible for care and safety of their children at all times while in the studio and studio property and while participating in classes.  For drop off classes, please ensure your contact information is up-to-date in the unlikely event you need to be contacted during class time.

·  On your first day of school-year session class, you may be asked to fill out & sign an information sheet.   These sheets will be considered accurate and valid from September to August.  Please ensure contact information is up-to-date and accurate and notify Mrs. Deb of any changes.
