What happens in a Kindermusik class?
There is lots of variety within a class and from week to week. Activities include singing, creative movement, dancing, listening, finger plays, poems, a variety of rhythm instruments, engaging props, and story time. Your child will be able to learn and explore while doing what they love best: PLAY! All of the activities in a Kindermusik class are research-based and designed to nurture and grow children cognitively, emotionally, socially, physically and musically. Classes run for about an hour from gathering time to goodbye song.
Is my baby too young for Kindermusik?
Not at all. Babies are learning and processing information before they are even born! As soon as you are ready to join us, your baby is ready too. Our Foundations classes for infants from birth to beginner crawlers are specifically designed to stimulate the youngest minds with touch, gentle exercises, social dances, creative movement, instrument and object exploration, songs and rhymes. Plus you'll meet other new parents experiencing the same joys and struggles as you are while you bond with your baby. Together we'll explore a new theme along with new songs, rhymes and learning activities every 4-5 weeks.

What level is right for my child?
The Kindermusik curriculum offers you age specific classes as well as Mixed-Age experiences. If your child is right at the edge of two class levels, or has unique needs please contact us before registering. A short consultation can be sure we place your child in the best-fit class.
What should I bring with me?
You don’t need to bring anything to class – everything is provided. All props & instruments are age-appropriate, safety tested and thoroughly cleaned between classes to ensure a safe hand-on learning environment. Read more about Attending Class
What's Included in Tuition?
In addition to your once weekly in-class experience, you'll have additional at-home resources via the Kindermusik App including music, activities, and books.
What is a Mixed-Age class?
Mixed-Age classes are experiences designed for families with multiple children of various ages. They are a unique and joyful environment designed to nurture all age levels and bring the whole family to a class they can experience together. Mixed-Age classes are not restricted to families and are also an excellent option for families with only one child.
Is there a discount for siblings?
Yes! Siblings 3 months and younger attend for free with enrolled older siblings in any class. Siblings up to 6 months come for free when attending with siblings in Mixed-Age experiences where age-appropriate instruments and activity adaptations will be provided for your family. Free tag-along siblings do not need to be enrolled online, but please let us know they will be attending. Read more about Siblings policies.
Do I have to have an adult for every child that I bring to Mixed-Age classes?
No. You will be pleasantly surprised at how quickly the whole class becomes a "family" as we explore, learn and grow together. Your enrollment includes 1 adult per family and extra adults (spouse, grandparent, etc) may attend on a class-by-class basis by booking in advance with Mrs. Deb.
What if I have to miss a class?
Your child benefits most with your consistent attendance in your home class, but as an enrollment perk, you have the option to make up classes. If you are able to let us know in advance of your absence (vacations, appointments), we really appreciate knowing we can offer your space that week to someone else looking to book a make up class, but advanced notice of your absence is not required. Do I have to enroll for the whole year?
Kindermusik offers you the best of both worlds - security & flexibility! You can enroll at any time in any age-appropriate class that has space and that space is then saved for you and your child every week for the entire session. If you decide that you need to cancel your enrollment, you can do that by giving notice in writing before the end of the current calendar month. We appreciate as much advance notice you can provide as it allows time for your withdrawal to be processed and the space opened to another family.
Can I try a class before enrolling?
Trial classes are not available. While we know you're going to have a blast learning with us, it can take time for little ones to get comfortable in a new environment. A minimum enrollment of a month allows you to truly experience classes and allows your child time to become familiar with the environment and class routines. Once enrolled your space is yours for as long as you wish, but you can discontinue at any time by letting us know in writing before the end of the current calendar month. We'll take care of all the details on our end and process your withdrawal before the new month begins.

I'm visiting in town and can only enroll for a few classes - is this possible?
We're always happy to chat with you and work with your schedule. It is possible to arrange a custom enrollment provided there is space in class. Reach out and we'll do our best to accommodate your request.
How much is tuition?
Tuition is an equal monthly installment charged to your credit card through the secure online enrollment portal. Tuition for the entire year was calculated and then divided into equal payments to make budgeting a snap and is automatically pro-rated if you enroll mid-month. You can view class options and associated tuition by exploring the enrollment page. There are no additional or surprise fees and once enrolled your monthly tuition fee will be the same during the September - June school year. All tuition fees include HST.
